Dozens of knitters across Tiverton got their needles out last week as part of the Knit for Peace UK initiative.
Knitting took place in some of the town’s cafes and the library on Saturday, June 10. The crafting community as well as the Tiverton Bead and Wool shop were marking two events in one day – World Wide Knit in Public Day and charity knitting crocheting action for Knit for Peace.
During the last four weeks customers and supporters of Tiverton Bead and Wool Shop have been busy knitting and crocheting squares from left over yarns for charity Knit for Peace. The squares have been made by residents including crafters from Exmouth, Sidmouth and Honiton. The total count of the squares at the moment stands at over 550.
