Audrey Viso of St. Joseph’s Academy has been selected as the 2016-17 Gatorade Louisiana Girls Soccer Player of the Year, according to a press release from the Gatorade Company.
Viso, a Clemson signee, is the first St. Joseph’s Academy player to receive the award given annually to the state’s top player. The award recognizes athletic excellence, high academic standards and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.
As Louisiana’s winner, Viso also is now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Girls Soccer Player of the Year award that will be announced in the days ahead.
