As our youth slips more and more into cyberspace through their ever-increasing gaze into an electronic device, there are many outdoors-oriented organizations in New York state that fight against this trend.
But perhaps no club in New York state is stepping up to the plate at such an amazing level as the Almond Rod and Gun Club in rural Allegany County. Last year, they sent 35 boys and girls to the Rushford Conservation Camp by raising nearly $12,000 in 2016.
NYS Senator Cathy Young commended the club for their record-setting effort last year.
The Almond Rod and Gun Club sends both boys and girls into a healthy, outdoors-oriented, fun-filled learning environment, under the real sky, not just a virtual one.
